China Team wins the 2014 Enactus World Cup!!



Beijing, October 24, 2014 - The 14th Enactus World Cup hosted by the Chinese People"s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and Enactus finished on October 24th in Beijing. During the three day event the national champion teams from 34 countries delivered their presentations on stage to showcase how their community outreach projects improved peoples’ lives. The participants included 750 business executives from companies like KPMG, Cargill, Chow Tai Fook, Coca Cola, Lenovo, NuSkin, Unilever, Walmart, PepsiCo and many more, 3,411 students and 183 faculty advisors. In the end the host country team from China, from North China Electric Power University, won the 2014 Enactus World Cup.



The Enactus World Cup is the premier event of Enactus which is an international organization operating in 36 countries which brings together a diverse network of 1,600 universities’ students, academic professional and industry leaders. Enactus empowers university students to unleash their social responsibility and entrepreneurial spirits to create real impact for numerous community members. 



The North China Electric Power University’s team’s “Empower the Grassland” project brought power to nomadic areas of Inner Mongolia where electricity difficulties seriously affect the quality of local education, healthcare and employment. They developed a wind and solar generator system which supplied reliable electricity to local herdsman significantly improving their quality of life and almost doubling their annual income. 



The team from Morocco was rewarded the First Runner-Up Prize of the 2014 Enactus World Cup. The team developed a cost-efficient water filtering solution for their local community aiming to create economic opportunity for unemployed people through skills training on production and sales of the water filtration systems. The project empowered their targeted audience to offer products and services to 426 clients in seven local villages and to raise the monthly sales net revenue by 150% to USD150 each person.



Mrs. Li Xiaolin, the General Director of CPAFFC, made remarks at the opening ceremony welcoming all the participants to the event. She noted that it was an honor for CPAFFC to partner with Enactus to host the Enactus World Cup in Beijing.



Winning the World Cup in China by the team representing China was like a dream come true for all Chinese Enactus students and supporters. The excitement and tension in the room on the final afternoon of the World Cup was extremely high especially after the teams finished their presentations and everyone waited for the judges’ results. We are sure that the members of the winning team will never forget this day for all of their lives.
